Located right on the border with Croatia, the village of Kra\u0161nji Vrh (542 m) lies in a scenic setting. At the upper end of the village stands the Church of the Holy Trinity, and above it rises a rounded, forested hill crowned by a slender observation tower. This popular excursion point can be reached by car, while buses can only access Radovica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kra\u0161nji Vrh is 10 km from Metlika. A marked hiking trail leads from Metlika (Pungart), passing through fields, forests and vineyards via Slamna vas and Bojanja vas to Kra\u0161nji Vrh, the highest-lying village in the Metlika area. At the top, there is also a mountain lodge and a 17-metre-high observation tower, offering a picturesque view of the landscape stretching between Trdinov vrh and Klek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trail is easy, but relatively long, requiring approximately three hours of walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along the route, about 15 minutes before reaching Kra\u0161nji Vrh, there is a marked turn-off to the deepest karst pit in Bela Krajina, known as Pe\u010denevka. If you decide to visit it, you will extend your hike by about half an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can also choose a shorter route by heading towards Kra\u0161nji Vrh just before the village of Radovica, where a signpost is located on a bend in the road. The path mostly runs through forest. After about 20 minutes, it crosses the Radovica\u2013Kra\u0161nji Vrh road, where less active hikers can join by parking their cars near the sports field. From there, it takes another 20 minutes to reach the destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
